Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Adair County Criminal History. Viewing content, submitting a search, or visiting any part of the site signals agreement with every term below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Adair County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Kentucky, or federal government agency. The site and its advertising partners do not offer tools for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This resource identifies criminal-record sources in Adair County, Kentucky. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site, not a government office. It does not keep official criminal records, obtain records on a visitor's behalf, perform official background checks, or submit legal filings.

The site directs readers to Adair County record custodians, including local criminal courts, the sheriff's records custodian, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Criminal Identification and Records Branch / Records Division, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect visitors with outside research tools. Public-agency access is governed by laws such as the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870–61.884, while KRS 17.150–17.151 addresses criminal-history dissemination.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use automated bots or scrapers against the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, service, or system
  • Violate a local, Kentucky, or federal law
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use site content or information returned by a linked tool to intimidate, harass, stalk, threaten, or discriminate against another person. Misuse may also violate criminal law. Kentucky places particular restrictions on misuse of Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry information. Registry entries are published for public safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Adair County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offer a service intended to evaluate applicants, insurance risk, rental applications, or creditworthiness. Information from the site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Evaluate an applicant for housing or a rental
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated decision

When a lawful purpose requires such a report, use the appropriate official Kentucky State Police process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It may describe how Adair County criminal records work, but it cannot apply a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement rule to an individual matter. Advice about a specific situation must come from a Kentucky-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Outside search results are accurate or complete
  • The site will always remain available without interruption
  • Information will be current, accurate, or complete at all times
  • The pages will contain no bugs, security flaws, or other errors

Criminal records can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, sealed, corrected, or expunged. Updates may not appear everywhere at once, so omissions and delays can occur. Site content is not an official statement from an Adair County court, sheriff, the Kentucky State Police, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may point to Adair County offices, Kentucky court portals, state agencies, legal-aid groups, and outside search providers. Following a link opens a service beyond this site's control. Adair County Criminal History is not responsible for the destination's content, availability, fees, or data practices. Review that service's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code are owned by Adair County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the broadest extent allowed by law, Adair County Criminal History is not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including reliance on information displayed here or returned by an external service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to hold Adair County Criminal History harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that visitor's use of the site or violation of these terms. This obligation includes related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with use of Adair County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Kentucky.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, every remaining provision stays in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable.
