Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. Adair County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent by email are kept as needed to prepare and deliver a response. They remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The device's assigned IP address

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Adair County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its published material identifies official sources such as local criminal courts, the sheriff's records custodian, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Criminal Identification and Records Branch / Records Division, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices. Visitors should read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Adair County offices, Kentucky court services, state agencies, legal-aid resources, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms control that visit. Review those terms before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for interest-based advertising. That tracking does not occur on systems controlled by Adair County Criminal History.

In Kentucky, the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870–61.884, governs access to records held by public agencies, while KRS 17.150–17.151 addresses the dissemination of criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a public records custodian. Visitors may still ask the site to:
